The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette represents the third model year of the eight-generation Corvette a.k.a Corvette C8.
Lately, there have been a lot of buzz on the newly revealed Chevrolet Corvette C8 Convertible.It is indeed one of the best, if not the best mid-engined car in the market, delivering the performance of a supercar while still in the more affordable price range.
One of the changes Chevrolet did with the 2022 Corvette C8 is that the engine was moved towards the back behind the passenger compartment instead of the front. It has a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that can produce 490 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It can sprint from 0 – 60 mph in less than 3.0 seconds with a remarkable top speed of 194 mph.
Another and also Corvette's first, is an 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. You can either control it through the push button gear selector in the central console or through the paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
The Corvette C8 is driver-focused taken to a new level, it delivers performance and luxury expected of a supercar while being priced like a sports car and as usable daily as a Chevy Malibu. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic which reached its peak last year, General Motors halted the production of the Corvette C8 briefly and only half of the expected production units were made. In addition to the early February shutdown, the Bowling Green Assembly plant where the Corvette is built was shut down for a week in early March as well. The shutdown was a result of shortage of the supply of transmission parts.The shutdown ended on March 8. This is one of the reasons why there is a major rush to acquire the Corvette C8 before it eventually gets sold out.
