The Mercedes-Benz SLK has undergone a major makeover for the 2001 model year. Mercedes has redesigned the exterior, completely redesigned the interior, and, for the first time, is offering a wider choice of engines and transmissions.
New for 2001 is the SLK 320, which packs a much stronger 3.2-liter V6 engine. This same engine powers the much larger and heavier E 320 sedan and generates 215 horses and 229 pound-feet of torque to the open-air party (up a welcome 29 pound-feet over the SLK230.
This new SLK 320 fits comfortably in the new world of German roadsters. It is a much-improved roadster, It's better looking, more fun to drive, safer and substantially better equipped than last year's single-model lineup.
This sophisticated roadster is a refined alternative to the raw adrenaline rush of, say, the more boisterous Porsche Boxster. It's a convertible when the weather's good, a securely sealed two-seater coupe when it's not, and an inviting choice for everyday driving, any day. Now with V-6 power, the SLK also rates a couple notches higher on the fun scale.This ultra low mileage and meticulously maintained SLK 320 is equipped with Mercedes lengendary five-speed automatic with Touch Shift.
