The 2018 BMW 640i Gran Turismo (GT) represents a quantum improvement over the car it replaces, the 5-series Gran Turismo (GT).It's similar to the redesigned 5 Series sedan that debuted in 2017, though it's longer on the outside and roomier on the inside.

Compared to the old 5 GT, the 6 GT gets BMW's latest tech, sleeker styling, and a more conventional hatchback design.
This 6 Series Gran Turismo is offered exclusively in 640i xDrive guise, with a 3.0-liter turbocharged Inline 6 engine and all-wheel drive. The six-cylinder engine has plenty of grunts, with 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque on tap to move this beast from 0-60 mph in just about 5 seconds
Some might be confused by the existence of the 6 Series Gran Coupe, which is also a coupe-style sedan. But unlike the Gran Coupe and its vestigial center rear seat, the Gran Turismo is a true five-seater. The GT's hatchback provides more maximum cargo room (65 cubic feet versus 44.7 cubes with the rear seats folded). From a functional perspective, the GT is just better at hauling people and cargo. Its standard air suspension can even lower the back end to help load items.
From the driver's seat, it's like a regular 5 Series. From the rear seat, the 6 GT is an impressively roomy mini-limo, with a lovely, light, and airy ambience.
